1-Southern Cassowary (Casuarius Casuarius) the feathers of the body are black, The skin of the head and neck is blue, while the bottom of the neck is red. Both female and male are similar, but the females are useally larger. It has three-toed feet that are thick and strong that have daggers on the inner toe. It eats fallen fruits and fungi which are poisonous to humans. It is the largest member of the cassowary family and is the second heaviest bird on earth. The bird will strike or defend themselves with behaviour on other animals and humans. This animal is an Endangered Specie of Australia and a Keystone Specie.
2-Bennett’s and Lumholtz Tree Kangaroos (Dendrolagus Lumholtzi) Is a heavy tree kangaroo that, is the smallest of all tree kangaroos. They can leap 9 metres down to another branch and have been known to drop as far as 18 metres to the ground without injury! It can be found North of the Daintree River,in both mountain and lowland tropical rainforests. It lives on leaves of rainforest trees,vines, and ferns. They have been hit by cars and killed by dogs, Humans are a predator to them.
3-Musky Rat-Kangaroo (Hypsiprymnodon Moschatus) is found only in the rainforests of northeast Australia its about 21-34 cm long, simillar size to a large guinea pig. It lives for about 4 years. It eats fallen fruit,dried leaves, small invertebrates ,and large seeds. Is very active during the day, often at night they rest under tree roots. They are usally found in the dampest areas of the forest, near creeks and rivers. Reproduction beings between 18-21 months, young are born February- April. This kangaroo is an Endangered Specie in Australia.
4-Buff Breasted Paradise Kingfisher (Tanysipera Sylvia) its breeding grounds is in the rainforest of North Queensland Australia. Its colored brighty with a red bill, blue or purple head, black eyes, red feet. The adult male is 35 cm, adult female 30 cm. Nest are made in small mounds on the ground. After the young leave the nest many remians are left over. They only ever produce 1 batch of eggs unless the first batch fails, then later in the breeding season they have a second batch. It eats earthworms, beetles, larva, spiders,lizards,frogs and snails.
5-Lesser Sooty Owl (Tyto Mulipunctata) The lesser sooty owl is at the top of the food chain, and is an important part of the environment because they are predators that eat rodents. They hunt rodents, small birds, bats and insects. small mammals, and insects. They generally hunt from low perches and take prey on the ground. They live a long time, their breeding season is from January to August. They breed and live in a large hollow of a tree trunk. They are protected animals under Australian law.
