1-Grey Headed Flying Fox (Pteropus Poliocephalus)
The grey headed flying fox is the largest bat in Australia. In captivity they can live up to 23 years old. In the wild they can live up to 15 years old. They can live in rainforests, woodlands, and swamps. When they migrate they dont go to a specific direction, they go in the direction that is beneficial at the time. At night they go out and find polle, nectar and fruit to eat. They have a very important ecological role by dispersing pollen on Australian plants. They mate between March and May, females usually give birth to one young each year between September and January. 2-Southern Cassowary ( Hetreotrophs Page) 3- Tasmanian Devil (Sacophilus Harrissi) It can generate a very strong bite, and it hunts prey and scavenges, eating household products if they can find them. they can eat a small kangaroo, sheep, birds, fish, fruit, vegetable, insects, frogs and reptiles. They are nocturnal, they spend the day hidden in a bush or hole. Females become fertile once a year, males fight over females and female devils will mate with the dominant male. |
